Great book. My EMT course used the book, Prehospital Care 9th edition, and the bibliography references it's information from this exact book and this exact edition. Granted that I read the 1600 page book, this study guideis composed of all of the relevant information from the book removed from the cut and dry, and placed in respective categories. Statistically, people retain about 5 to 10% of what they read from a book so I would suggest reading this book 10 to 15 times to really soak in the information. It should not be a replacement to your training textbook but certainly A reference. Thanks to this book, and reading it multiple times, along with reading the assigned text book to the class, I passed my EMT basic cognitive exam conducted by the NREMT. I would say all of the questions were really easy and really did touch off on things picked up in this book. There is a practice test in the back, answers are behind it, it is also good information. Remember, to do well in the test, always remember your ABC's first. Also be familiar with assessments and what comes before what. Would highly recommend this. There are a few spelling errors but if you are getting your panties in a bunch like the other user, then you probably should not consider working in this field as the world is not perfect. Overall this was pretty good. I passed the first try at the NREMT test; I used this in conjunction with the iPhone app "Pocket Prep." Not sure which contributed the most to my success.
This book is great for EMT-B class. I use it as a resource in class. It is consistent with my curriculum and is such a great way to absorb the information. I refer to it to cut all of the fluff out and ensure that I am focusing on the most important information from the chapters. Test tips are also very handy. My instructor flipped through it to ensure I was being taught what was still most accurate and up to date, testing included.
This book is amazing. It basically takes my 1300 page textbook and compresses it down to 105 pages. My only problems are that I’ve noticed some spelling mistakes and I wish there were more practice questions (only 80 included).
Great product, loved this book. It touched bases on the important things about each subject, but doesn't go into full detail like our 1,000 page emt book. I did however pass my national registry just yesterday, and I gotta say, it was because of this book. Their are some faults though, just on grammer, and some vitals are incorrect on there charts. But like I said, it's a review.
Great condition, easy to follow, and helped me pass the NREMT!!! Really helps remember all the old information.
My instructor wrote down the info for this so she could tell the next classes about it for extra help
